Q: What is a Zine?
A: A zine, short for “fanzine” or “magazine”, is a collection of works ranging from illustrations to writing, typically focused on a fandom, a character, a theme, etc.
This project will feature fan-made content about the kids version of various Ensemble Stars characters and their childhood experiences, as defined before.Q: What are the specs of this zine?
A: This project will offer an A5, perfect-bound and fully-coloured physical zine.Q: Will this zine allow ships?
A: Due to the theme of our project, we strongly encourage everyone to explore platonic relationships between various characters as the main focal point. Implicit pairings will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.Q: Will there be a unified setting?
A: This project will not have a unified setting. Contributors are allowed the creative freedom to develop their own worlds, whether following canon or otherwise, to best execute the theme in their desired manner.Q: How many contributors are you accepting?
A: We are looking to accept 15-20 page artists, 5 merch artists and 5 writers, excluding guests (numbers are subject to change).Q: Do I need zine experience to apply?
A: Not at all! Everyone is welcome to apply regardless of whether you've participated in a zine or not. If you have any concerns about applying, you’re more than welcome to send us your queries through our Retrospring, and we’ll be happy to clear your doubts!Q: Can I apply for more than one position?
A: Yes! However, you will only be accepted for one position in the zine. Contributors will be given the opportunity to create additional pieces for the zine during the creation period at their own volition.Q: Is there an age requirement for contributor applicants?
A: Yes, all applicants must be 18 years old before 1st January 2025.Q: How will contributors be compensated?
A: All contributors will be guaranteed a PDF of the zine. Should profits allow, all contributors will also receive a full bundle of the zine and merchandise.Q: My question hasn’t been answered?
